ABOUT SARAH MILES

My Personal Approach
As a psychotherapy practitioner, I am down-to-earth and practical, and will say things as I see them! Our time together is valuable, and I believe that a straightforward approach fosters clarity and mutual understanding to build a solid foundation for the work ahead.
Offering a Fair, Honest, Guiding Hand
I am here to be your supporter and in your corner, to help you work through the challenges you're facing.
Importantly, this doesn't mean that therapy will be easy. Being your support doesn't mean that I am your cheerleader; it means that I am here to help you, to sit with you and sometimes challenge unhelpful patterns - all whilst you feel seen, heard, understood and, crucially, accepted.
Taking Time for Self-care
I understand just how hard it can be for us to choose to take a step back from our busy lives and seek help when we most need it. Often, there's simply too much to do, to pause and reflect on what's truly going on for us.
However, I also believe we all know that wellbeing is a vital part of us being able to be the best we can be - both for ourselves and for others.
Support for Individuals and Families
Couples
My core expertise lies in supporting couples to work through infidelity, betrayal and loss of trust, feeling disconnected, parenting, navigating significant or traumatic life changes together and neurodiversity within couples.
I can also help couples to navigate separation and divorce if they have decided that is the best path for them. Inclusivity is important to me and I welcome all couples.
I also provide specialised support for couples who work together and parents and carers of individuals with complex needs.
Individuals
Each person is welcome and accepted as they are and for who they are. Some of the areas I can provide support with are anxiety, family issues, religious trauma, neurodiversity, depression and facing significant life changes.
I also specialise in working with carers, whether they are currently providing care or have done in the past and family members of individuals with complex needs.
What happens next ...
Having taken the first step to accessing support, sometimes it can be confusing about what happens next and how it works.
I offer introductory calls for potential clients to learn a bit about me and how I work. I will talk you through what will happen during a first session, whether you're looking for online or in-person sessions, and if it feels like the right fit for you. We can talk about the next steps and booking in for a session, but there is never any pressure as choosing the right therapist to support you is important.
